ONE DIRECTION

One Direction is a British/Irish pop band that had 5 British members: Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Zayn Malik, and Nail Horan who's Irish. When they began, they were between 16 and 18years old. Their fans are mostly girls but boys like them too. Their most popular songs are: “What Makes You Beautiful,” “No Control,” “Kiss You,” “Midnight Memories,” and more.

The band was formed by Simon Cowell after they performed on "The X Factor” in 2010. Their songs were enormously popular and went viral which got them nominated for teen awards and American Music Awards.


Unfortunately, things started to get bad when Simon supposedly did things like not let the boys eat enough causing various health issues like anorexia and anxiety. That is why Zayn left in 2015, after their fourth album “Four” and their last show and began a solo career.


In 2016 the boys without Zayn performed their last show with their fifth Album "Made In A.M" after which they went on an eighteen-month break that has lasted until today.


Shortly after the band was formed the "Directioners", the name of the fandom, created a conspiracy that sounds pretty real - that Harry and Louis are a couple. “Directioners” claim that Harry and Louis got married on September 28th, 2013 but had to keep it a secret because Simon didn't approve. They allege that Simon even arranged "girlfriends" for them like Taylor Swift who dated Harry and then wrote an entire album about him. Eleanor is Louis's "girlfriend." Louis and Harry wrote songs about each other in their albums and there are some songs about 'Larry' in the One Direction album, like "Happily."


By December 2020, their contract with 'Syco Music' will be over. This means they will be free, and Harry and Louis might come out. If they want to work together again, they will join a music company where they can all be themselves.


To date, One Direction has released a movie and 5 albums between 2010-2015. Today, they all have successful solo-careers. Louis is 29-year-old, Zayn, Liam and Nail are 27-year-old, and Harry is 26 years old.

In the heart of the Givat Ram Campus, a middle school is growing and developing.

The curriculum in the school is a real celebration for the students and teachers who together create an intriguing, unique, personal, and meaningful education. Learning during Corona Time has not been simple. Not for teachers and not for students. But at ORT JERUSALEM every problem provides the staff with an opportunity to grow, develop and create.

Our 9th grade English Class is a talented, committed and determined group of 33 students who realize the importance of not only learning English in the classroom but using it in tangible way.

The New Ort Times is our winter project for the graduating class of 2021. We hope you enjoy it, read it, listen and watch the videos and play the Kahoots!
