SpaceX is a company founded by Elon Musk. SpaceX was established on May 6, 2002. It is an aerospace manufacturer and space transportation service company. The company base is located in California in the United States of America and has about 8,000 employees.
SpaceX expects to reach low Earth orbit in 2021, followed by routine flights and demonstrations of in-orbit refueling in 2022. A tourist’s mission around the moon is planned for 2023. SpaceX aims at sending a first un-crewed starship to Mars in 2024.
The foundation of SpaceX first came from Elon Musk’s money and after a few years, the company went bigger and started to sign contracts with big companies like NASA and other space transportation companies.
In September 2016, Musk unveiled an interplanetary transport system - subsequently renamed Starship - a privately funded by launch system to develop spaceflight technology for use in crewed interplanetary spaceflight.
In 2017, Musk unveiled an updated configuration of the system which is intended to handle interplanetary missions plus become the primary SpaceX orbital vehicle after the early 2020. Starship is planned to be fully reusable and will be the largest rocket ever on its debut, scheduled for the early 2020s, as SpaceX has announced it intends to eventually replace its existing Falcon 9 launch vehicles and Dragon space capsule fleet with Starship.
